Kyle Abrahams
I'm a 38 year old Cornish guy who has been working for Richfords Fire and Flood for the past three years and love the fact I can make a difference to disaster situations. This is one of the reasons i have chosen Shelter Box as my nominated charity. I feel that the work they do abroad is is not much different to the help we provide in this area (BOSCASTLE,ST IVES 09,OTTERY STMARY 08)
I am very proud to work for a company that supplies this level of support

Paul Beckinsale
As an ex-service man from Cornwall I’ve seen and know of friends and colleagues who have been badly hurt whilst serving in the forces and some haven’t made it home at all.
Paddling a kayak around Cornwall gives me the chance to raise the profile of Help For Heroes and the causes they support. I’ve been to Headley court in Surrey, the main rehabilitation centre for HM forces, to meet some of the men and women who work extremely hard to help get our guys and girls back on the road to recovery. I’ll be going back in the near future with a bit of luck, to meet some of the people in their recovery process. We all too often hear of the sacrifices that our men and women make but we don’t hear enough about how we can help support our seriously wounded in their rehabilitation. Please support me in raising the profile of this charity and raise as much money as possible for Help For Heroes.

Darren Pascoe
Hey, I'm Darren and have lived in Portreath for all of my 28 years. You kind of have no choice but to have some kind of interest in the ocean or water based activity living here for that long. I started swimming and competing for Portrearth Surf Club and Carn Brea Swimming Club at an early age before other sport, mainly rugby, plus extra curricular activities throughout my teenage years took over.
Nowadays, due to injuries, I no longer compete but still have a major interest in sport and fitness; and it's in the gym nowadays that I spend a great deal of time. I do a lot of Personal Training, so when Paul Beckinsale, mid-kebab, stopped me in Truro and explained the challenge, he got me very interested. He was seeking some training for the boys involved so i jumped at the chance to help out.
In our meeting at The Blue Bar to discuss training I also mentioned that if any of The Wet Way Round crew had to pull out for any reason then I would be happy/willing/mad to offer my services and fill in for them. Unfortunately for Simon, an original crew member, he reluctantly had to do just that and so here I am.
I take on the RNLI as my chosen charity for this major challenge. Coming from a seaside village and being involved in the rescue and prevention of rescue situations myself, I understand and appreciate the importance of the RNLI. I also appreciate how much it costs to keep such an essential service running. That's why we are here so sponsor what you can as it all helps......wish us luck.
